Course:North Indian 12 Musical Notes: Introduction to Bhatkhande Swarlipi system: Understanding of Shudh Swar (Natural), Komal Swar (Flat), and Tivra Swar (Sharp) along with their placements.Western Notation:Introduction to Western notation, including notes like C, C#, and the concepts of sharp (#) and flat (b).Saptak Practical:Understanding and practice of the complete musical scale across different octaves.Scales (Thaat) Practices:Two different scales (Thaat) practices with exercises to build familiarity and command.Octave Practice:Exploration and practice of both lower and higher octaves, understanding their role in music.Paltas:Paltas (practice patterns) based on the above scales, focusing on note transitions and melodic construction.Classical Raags:Study of classical raags, including Aroh (ascending), Avroh (descending), Pakad (catchphrase), and Swarmalika (melodic phrases). Practicedifferent Taans (improvisational patterns).Film Songs/Bhajans/Ghazals:Learn film songs, bhajans, or ghazals to understand melodic structure and rhythm in popular music.Taals:Knowledge of the following classical Taals (rhythmic cycles):Dadra•Kaharwa•Teen Taal•EktaalUnderstanding their structure and application in both classical and light music forms.This is just a sample syllabus and can be modified based on the individual needs and progress of the student.
